THE SHOW
Think about the day you’ve just had. About where you went, what you saw and who you met. Were you paying attention? One day can change your life or you could change somebody else’s.
Four women, four strangers connected by a tragic event. In the face of the unthinkable, what would you do? Join these women as they unpack their shared experience and reflect with them on decisions not easily made.
Inspired by the true stories of the women around us, the show invites the audience to witness the ongoing impacts and trauma of abuse. This production aims to highlight the prevalent issue of domestic abuse towards women in Australia, which has been further exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
START FROM THE BEGINNING is produced, directed and performed by four female identifying actors who are currently completing their third year of their Creative Arts Course at Deakin University, Melbourne. The show is set to be aired using the online medium of Zoom Webinar on the 10-11th of December 2020 and later uploaded onto YouTube.
Warning: Contains some coarse language, potentially triggering content or themes, including violence, emotional abuse, domestic violence and violence against women.
Viewer discretion is advised.

HARGRAVES ST. PRODUCTIONS
Hargraves St. Productions is a theatre company based in Melbourne, Victoria. It was created in conjunction with the founders' art courses at Deakin University. Due to the strong themes of feminism within the company, the founders wished to emulate this within their name. Hargraves St. Productions is named after the street in Castlemaine where Fanny Finch, one of the first Australian women to vote, casted her ballot in 1856 in the Theatre Royal.
